BIOME—it all began with a single word we encountered by chance.
BIO (ecosystem) + OME (mass).
Originally, it refers to “a large unit of living organisms or ecosystems classified by climate and geographical conditions.”
This word is now even used in school education, but we have discovered new meanings and possibilities within it.
Although modern society speaks of respecting diversity and individuality,
there remains a tendency to be bound by conformity and unconscious frameworks.
Japan’s unique culture and educational influences quietly take root in our subconscious.
Even if there are “classifications” such as country, region, genre, theme, or gallery,
we focus on allowing art and creative works to be expressed freely within them.
Moreover, we do not intend to excessively praise or make a spectacle of what has been created.
We aim to cultivate an “eye for art,” creating a space where viewers and artworks can face each other and discover together.
BIOME is a gallery that values the viewer’s perspective and supports dialogue with the artworks.
We emphasize providing experiences where people encounter art, savor it deeply,
and find their views of the world and themselves gently transformed.

自社物件となる
御影へ移転（予定）
In order to increase flexibility in display and gallery operations, I had been searching for a property to own, and was able to relocate to Mikage-cho, Higashinada Ward. We are currently constructing a new building there.
2022.5
中山手通に移転
Although we overcame the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic starting in 2020, due to unforeseen issues with the building, we relocated the gallery to Nakayamate-dori, Kobe, in 2022.

BIOME
アートギャラリー設置
With the catchphrase "A gallery, but not a gallery," I opened a new-style space in Shimoyamatedori, Kobe, that combines elements of art and education.

会社設立
Motivated by a desire to utilize the skills and experience I have gained to benefit future generations, I left the company where I had worked for 30 years and established my own business. While exploring industries and systems that require new value standards and legal frameworks, I took the first step .
We’ve moved!
Located for years in the hillside area between Nakayamatedori and Motomachi in central Kobe, BIOME will close its current Nakayamatedori gallery at the end of January 2026 and relocate to the Mikage area of Higashinada Ward in May of the same year.
