Koike says that glass is ambivalent.
While it is beautiful and delicate, it is also violent and insane and can cause injury if mishandled. Glass, she says, is a metaphor for the finite nature of life and the relationship between each life.
The work is not abstract but perhaps expresses a small figure that can be found in our daily lives.
